Medieval Prison.
St. Osyth resident Ursula Kemp was imprisoned here before being hanged as a witch in 1582. It was last used in 1908.
The accused witch Elizabeth Bennett would also have been imprisoned here.
Sign on the side of an old building in the villiage of Saint Osyth, Essex.
It always concerned me that the cage was last used in 1908.... I knew there were a few witches in the village but....
